Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Care Specialist to join our Fostering Team at the London Borough of Hillingdon. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough home studies of prospective foster carers, preparing comprehensive assessment reports, and engaging applicants in their own assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth home studies of prospective foster carers.
  • Prepare high-quality assessment reports for Panel using the BAAF Form F format.
  • Engage applicants in their own assessments, including home tasks.
  • Verify all documentation, including DBS checks and references.
  • Adhere to strict timelines and maintain open communication with potential foster carers throughout the assessment process.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a recognized Social Work qualification, current registration with Social Work England, and proven experience in fostering and conducting Form F assessments. You should also possess excellent assessment, communication, and report writing skills, as well as strong IT and time management skills.
