We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to young people and their families.


About the Role


As a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for managing complex cases, providing expert psychiatric assessments, and leading multidisciplinary teams. You will also contribute to service and business planning, ensuring that our services meet the evolving needs of our community.


Your Key Responsibilities



  • Provide leadership and clinical expertise to the Hillingdon Urgent Care Team, working closely with clinicians and other stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes, enhancing our crisis intervention services and supporting the development of a new short-term crisis intervention service.
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous medical records, adhering to Trust record-keeping policies and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Foster strong relationships with colleagues, patients, and families, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and collaboration.

Your Qualifications and Experience


To succeed in this role, you will possess:



  • A higher degree or additional qualifications relevant to working with children and adolescents.
  • Completion of Higher Psychiatric Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent training (CESR issued by PMETB).
  • Proven experience in assessing and managing risk in complex patients, including those in acute and community psychiatric settings.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of effective collaboration and partnership working.
