Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Full-time Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to join our esteemed CMHT East Team. This dynamic role offers an exceptional opportunity for clinical leadership, collaboration, and professional growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to share clinical leadership with another colleague. The successful candidate will work proactively to strengthen links and foster effective communication with Primary Care teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Clinical Leadership: Provide consultant leadership and expertise to the Hillingdon Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) East team.
  2. Quality Improvement: Lead on quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation projects in partnership with the service manager.
  3. Inpatient Admission: Assume consultant responsibility during periods of inpatient admission and liaise between Inpatient and Community services.
  4. Patient Discharge: Work on identifying which cohort of patients can be safely discharged back to primary care.
  5. Team Leadership: Provide clinical leadership to the team, including acting as Responsible Clinician for patients on community orders.
  6. New Referrals: Assess new referrals with other MDT members and provide phone advice for clinical staff.
  7. Emergency Visits: Be available for emergency and home visits at short notice, participating in Mental Health Act assessments.
  8. Training and Supervision: Teach and train staff, especially junior doctors and medical students, and provide supervision to Junior Doctors.
  9. Meetings and Collaboration: Attend local consultants meetings, borough monthly Care Quality meetings, daily zoning meetings, and monthly business meetings.
