Teaching Assistant (SEN Experience)

An independent school in Greater London seeks an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance Learner Engagement: Design and deliver engaging sessions to boost student participation.
  • Create Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) for each student, outlining tailored goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to learning.
  • Track Student Progress: Document and analyze student progress, identifying areas of improvement and celebrating successes.
  • Support learners in developing self-regulation skills as needed, fostering independence and confidence.
  • Manage Classes: Provide direct line management for associated classes, overseeing daily operations and ensuring smooth learning environments.
  • Closely collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to review and enhance the Quality of Education within the pathway.
  • Pastoral Care: Oversee pastoral care and implement positive behavior strategies to promote engagement and learning.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience teaching SEN children, especially those with severe learning difficulties and autism.
  • Familiarity with the EQUALS curriculum is advantageous, but not required.
  • Experience with non-linear developmental assessment frameworks is beneficial.
  • A strong passion for working with SEN children is essential.
  • Capability to manage Teachers and Teaching Assistants is expected.
