About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding and Child Protection Officer to join our team at Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and adults within our organization and its subsidiary businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on child and adult safeguarding/welfare and protection issues
  • Work closely with clubs and members to promote best practice and provide support on safeguarding matters
  • Attend safeguarding meetings and working groups to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and best practices
  • Develop and deliver training programs to upskill individuals and teams on safeguarding and protection
  • Collaborate with Swim England teams, clubs, and regions to provide support and guidance on safeguarding procedures and legislation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of child and adult safeguarding policies and procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
