Administrative Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our Temporary Staffing Service team at Durham University. As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will provide administrative support to academic departments and faculties, working on short-term placements to cover specified administrative roles and duties.

- Manage time flexibly to meet deadlines and work under pressure without compromising on quality.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver high-quality administrative services.
- Use digital devices and apps, including Microsoft 365 applications, to deliver services.
- Collect, organize, and record data and information accurately and provide reports as required.
- Promote positive wellbeing arrangements which benefit you and your team.
- Use standard office-based devices and applications to deliver services.
- Update guidance on standard operating procedures followed by the team and the departments/faculties you are deployed in.
- Arrange meetings, events, catering, equipment, and/or travel arrangements for team members in departments/faculties where required.
- Five GCSE's at least Grade C or level four (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent experience.
- Experience of managing time flexibly to meet deadlines and working under pressure without compromising on quality.
- Experience of working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good spoken and written communication skills.
- Good digital skills including experience in using digital devices and apps, including the internet, email, digital communication tools, and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Committed to continuing professional development.
- Ability to solve problems and resolve straightforward issues yourself and as part of a team.
- Ability to provide advice and guidance to a range of colleagues and customers.
- Ability to follow instructions, written and/or oral, accurately.
