We are seeking a part-time Support Worker in the Nelson area to join our Whānau Support Services team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide companionship and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as budgeting, meal preparation, and personal care.
  • Facilitate access to community activities and events, promoting social inclusion and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with the individual, their whānau, and other support services to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Requirements:

  • Passion for supporting others and making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with individuals with disabilities and challenging behaviors.
  • Availability to work after school hours and weekends, with a full driver's license and vehicle ownership.
  • Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and their whānau.
