We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our membership engagement efforts, driving growth and fostering a strong community of supporters. The ideal candidate will possess a talent for developing innovative strategies to acquire and retain members, as well as increasing reader revenue.

Our membership program, Bureau Insiders, has shown remarkable success since its launch 12 months ago, with over 300 dedicated Insiders supporting our investigations each month. These individuals believe in the power of investigative journalism to uphold democracy, expose injustice, and spark change. We aim to take this community to the next level by expanding our reach, engaging our audience, and securing unrestricted, sustainable funding.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a meaningful impact within our organization. As Director of Donor Engagement, you will be responsible for creating and implementing donor engagement strategies, including developing and executing outreach plans to attract new supporters and retain existing ones. You will work closely with our team to identify opportunities for growth, optimize our donor experience, and explore new ways to engage our members.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of what drives donor loyalty and retention. Your ability to build strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and team members will be critical to your success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective donor engagement strategies to drive growth and increase reader revenue
  • Create and execute outreach plans to attract new supporters and retain existing ones
  • Work closely with the team to identify opportunities for growth and optimize the donor experience
  • Explore new ways to engage members and enhance their overall experience
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., non-profit management, marketing, communications)
  • At least 3 years of experience in donor engagement, fundraising, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing donor engagement strategies
Benefits

As a member of our team, you can expect a competitive salary of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
