plus special needs allowance £1,455 pro rata

Hours: Mon- 9am-1pm, Tue- Fri- 12 midday-3.30pm

18 hours per week, term time only

Required: As soon as possible

Contract type: Fixed Term until 31 August 2025

The role of a Teaching Assistant Level 2 involves supporting children in receipt of an EHCP, under the direction of the teaching staff. This includes assisting in classroom management and supervision during break times. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the Graduated Response, as well as experience working with children with communication and interaction difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children's development, including physical, emotional, social, communication, and intellectual development needs
  • Help to keep children safe, including maintaining a safe environment, dealing with accidents, and supporting safeguarding
  • Encourage children's positive behaviour
  • Contribute to positive relationships with children and adults through communication and interaction
  • Provide effective support for colleagues
  • Support learning across the curriculum, including English and Mathematics
  • Support the use of technology, within Computing lessons and across the curriculum to support pupils' learning
  • Observe and report on performance
  • Escort and supervise pupils on educational visits and out-of-school activities
  • Contribute to maintaining pupil records
  • Contribute to monitoring and maintaining curriculum resources
  • Invigilate tests and examinations
