About the Role

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking an experienced and motivated operational services manager to join our team. As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for the management of specialty medicine services across our three acute hospitals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the senior management team to ensure operational plans and performance are closely managed.
  • Lead and provide solutions to resolve difficult operational issues, in accordance with agreed University Health Board objectives, targets, quality standards, and resource constraints.
  • Support the Clinical Director, Head of Nursing, and relevant Clinical/Therapies leads to provide strategic direction and take lead responsibility for certain operational aspects of business, financial, activity, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement the Integrated Medium Term Plan and operational strategies, ensuring that systems and processes are in place to comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements.

Requirements

  • Significant experience within a NHS environment or complex organisation.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting information to identify and manage variances in performance and identifying solutions to deliver improvement.
  • Experience of business planning.
  • First-class interpersonal skills with the ability to gain and sustain credibility with clinicians/managers.
  • Skilled in influencing and persuading others.
  • Able to prioritise and manage the ongoing work of services and/or projects.
  • Results-oriented and delivery against targets and deadlines.
  • Able to present well-reasoned and structured argument orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perceive the impact of actions on the decisions and activity of others.
  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards achieving this level.
  • Able to work hours flexibly as required by the service.
  • Ability to travel throughout the UHB locality in a timely manner.
