Polaris Community seeks a dedicated and compassionate Specialist ASC SEMH Educator to join our team. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that cater to the complex needs of pupils aged 5-16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As part of our supportive team, you will work collaboratively with class teams to facilitate learning and promote positive behaviors.

To excel in this role, you should possess qualified teacher status (QTS) and have previous successful teaching experience. A strong understanding of behavior management techniques and a commitment to professional development are also essential. In return, we offer a competitive salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum, meeting complex ASC & SEMH needs.
  • Support class teams in facilitating learning and promoting positive behaviors.
  • Report on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaise with School staff to meet pupils' needs.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.

Requirements:

  • Hold qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • Have previous successful teaching experience.
  • Have some previous experience of working with pupils with SEND in an Educational setting.
  • Have experience of behavior management and techniques.
  • Be committed to professional development and willing to learn.
