Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our team as an apprentice in early years care. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills while working towards a Level 3 qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Children: Providing care, play, and learning activities for children of different ages and developmental stages
  • Creating a Safe Environment: Ensuring the crche environment is inclusive and appropriate for children's needs and cultural backgrounds
  • Communication with Parents: Sharing information about children's needs and progress with parents and carers
  • Observation and Assessment: Monitoring children and discussing concerns with a line manager
  • Record Keeping: Keeping records of attendance, contact details, and other relevant information
  • Professional Development: Participating in courses and meetings to develop skills and knowledge
  • Task Completion: Completing tests, assignments, and other tasks as part of the apprenticeship
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with colleagues and other professionals to meet children's needs
  • Policies and Procedures: Adhering to policies and procedures relevant to the work of the setting

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: £6.40 per hour for the first year, rising to at least minimum wage after 12 months
  • One-to-one support and tuition from your apprenticeship tutor

Career Progression

This apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity to build a career in education while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children. Upon completion, you could progress to the Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner apprenticeship and eventually become an Early Years Teacher.
