Job Summary:
The role of a Materials Scientist in Reed Engineering's Technical team involves providing support for routine production tasks.
Main Responsibilities:
- Reviewing test results against customer specifications and liaising with the test laboratory to ensure compliance.
- Validating heat treatment charts from both in-house and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Verifying SAT reports to guarantee product certification.
- Participating in the certification process of products.
- Collaborating with internal audit teams and completing audits as scheduled by the business.
- Processing orders and inquiries, including technical contract review, route generation, and assignment, as well as generating necessary quality and method control documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Possessing a Metallurgy or Materials Science degree-level qualification.
- Demonstrating a solid understanding of physical metallurgy principles, particularly in steel and nickel-based alloys.
Personal Qualities:
- Demonstrating a proactive and motivated attitude, driving results-oriented behavior.
- Exhibiting excellent communication skills at all levels, fostering collaboration and open dialogue.

Salary Estimate: The estimated annual salary range for this position is between £55,000 and £70,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This estimate is based on industry standards for similar roles in the UK region.
