Job Summary

The Diabetes and Endocrinology Department at The Diabetes Times is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in providing specialist care to patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders.

Our department is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and developing innovative services to support the residents of Cumbria. We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Consultant who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Consultant in our department, you will be responsible for providing specialist care to patients in inpatient settings, specialty outpatient clinics, and community settings. You will also be expected to provide advice and guidance to primary care and community services, as well as education and training to our multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for a Consultant who is innovative, forward-thinking, and supportive in developing an all-encompassing integrated service to support the residents of Cumbria. You will be part of a highly motivated team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to delivering excellent patient care and improving health outcomes.

  • Young people's clinics
  • Transition joint clinics with paediatricians
  • Dedicated Diabetes Foot Services, with podiatric and vascular nurse input
  • Joint ante-natal clinics
  • Provision of DAFNE and DESMOND
  • Provision of insulin pump services with dedicated pump clinics
  • Endocrine clinics
  • Complex diabetes clinics both in hospital & community
