Your Role

As a Principal River Engineer, you will play a vital role in leading our team to deliver technical design work, prepare briefs and scopes of work, and manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes. You will work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions, adhering to quality assurance standards in design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
  • Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
  • Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
  • Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.

Requirements

  • Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent.
  • Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
  • Sound knowledge in design such as flood walls and embankments, weirs, hydraulic structures, culverts, scour protection, access and accessibility and construction logistics.
  • Familiarity with current UK design standards, guidance and working practices.
  • Proficiency in delivering both traditional engineering and environmentally focused solutions using nature-based strategies.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
