About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced River Engineering Director to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our cities and environments.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and direct teams who undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
  • Define briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
  • Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
  • Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Set quality assurance standards in design.
  • Grow, develop and manage engineering capability within the practice.

About You:

We are looking for a Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent with experience in owning design delivery, including multidisciplinary design. You should have comprehensive knowledge in design such as flood walls and embankments, weirs, hydraulic structures, culverts, scour protection, access and accessibility, and construction logistics. Familiarity with current UK design standards, guidance and working practices is essential.

Additional Information:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
