Special Educational Needs Coordinator Role

ACADEMICS is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team in Waltham Forest, London.
This role offers a competitive salary of £61,000 - £71,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a permanent full-time contract and opportunities for growth and development.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the SEMH needs of SEND students, advocating for students with SEND, and ensuring compliance with national and local legislation regarding SEND.
You will also be required to develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND, as well as manage a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) working directly with SEND students.
- Supporting SEMH needs of SEND students

- Ensuring compliance with national and local legislation regarding SEND
- Developing and reviewing IEPs for SEND students
- Managing a team of LSAs working directly with SEND students
Our ideal candidate will possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and additional SENCO qualifications or a willingness to undertake training. You will have experience in supporting children with a range of SEN, ideally in a primary school setting, and a strong understanding of the SEND code of practice.
