Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a Leicestershire school. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with special educational needs in a Foundation stage setting
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation, including creating stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as changing nappies and assisting with personal care
  • Accompany students on trips and outings, providing support and supervision as needed
  • Assist with assessment and evidencing learning, including maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the well-being and self-esteem of all students

Requirements:

  • Competency in English and Maths
  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification or above and have experience working in an early years setting
  • Previous childcare experience
  • A proven ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults
  • The ability to use relevant technology and equipment
  • A can-do attitude and a commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem, and progress of everyone at the school
