Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Building Control Specialist to join our team at Carbon60. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering statutory building control functions across a range of commercial and domestic projects.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience in building control inspection, general building surveying, design, project management or other similar specialist services, ideally within a local government authority or building control body. They should also possess knowledge of current building control legislation, associated guidance and issues relevant to the post.

Main Responsibilities
  • Delivering all building control functions and services, including pre-application meetings, plan checking, site inspections and visits of various nature
  • Making decisions on works, applications, notices and other matters, controlled under the Building Act 1984, Building Regulations 2010 and an imminently new Building Safety Regime
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in building control inspection, general building surveying, design, project management or other similar specialist services
  • Knowledge of current building control legislation, associated guidance and issues relevant to the post
  • Able to undertake all duties in accordance with the building control quality management system and building control performance standards policy adopted
