Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Media Relations Specialist to join our team at Adecco. This is a temporary opportunity to work with Thames Valley Police, providing information to the public through various media channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Media Relations: Respond to daily and out-of-hours enquiries from local, national, and specialist media, including writing and distributing press releases.
  2. Spokesperson: Act as an official spokesperson for the Force when required, engaging with local, national, and specialist media.
  3. Social Media: Respond directly to public enquiries about incidents and activity via social and digital channels.
  4. Event Management: Organise broadcast media interviews and manage the media at operational incidents, press conferences, and campaign launches.
  5. Public Engagement: Support communications officers in planning and attending open events to promote the work of the Force directly to the public.
Requirements:
  • Education: A good standard of education with a nationally recognised communications qualification or working towards accreditation.
  • Experience: Recent and proven experience of working with national, local, and specialist media for a high-profile organisation.
  • Skills: Excellent writing skills, ability to give high-quality interviews to the broadcast media, and a working knowledge of social networking systems.
