Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Graduate Technical Trainee to join our development team. As a Graduate Technical Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including software development, technical support, and content building. You will be working closely with our experienced team of developers, project managers, and content developers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the technical team in a wide range of tasks, including project coordination, testing, technical support, content building, and internal infrastructure support.
  • Work through the induction program and development modules to gain a deep understanding of our technology and processes.
  • Understand the requirements of technical projects and undertake all duties as assigned by the project manager.
  • Ensure all issues/bugs are logged into Jira to ensure there is a complete representation of work to be undertaken and fully explained.
  • Support project manager with changes to help files and website as required.
  • Add speech exceptions to files.
  • Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, online meetings, and webchat.
  • Deliver excellent levels of customer service that underpin the retention of and growth in loyal clients.
  • Follow test plans and provide feedback.
  • Carry out stress testing, performance testing, functional testing, and scalability testing as directed.
  • Add bugs/issues to Jira with clear explanations and steps to reproduce.
  • Review and test documentation.
  • Help troubleshoot issues as directed.
  • Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing.
  • Undertake day-to-day internal IT support, ensuring all are logged and time recorded.
  • Install and configure software and computer systems as directed.
  • Resolving logged tickets assigned to you in a timely manner.
  • Proactive support for users on a rolling program as directed.
  • Create resources, using content designed by Content Development, to quality standards and in line with agreed timescales.
  • Test curriculum-based applications using test plan templates to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Process graphics files and screenshots to support creation and uploading of resources for LearningGrids.
  • Understand the education market and work with other team members to understand why the software is used as well as how it is used.
  • Provide support for the UX/UI designer on market data and support them with any project reports or information needed.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual who has a degree in a STEM subject (ideally). You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work well in a team. You should also have a strong understanding of technical concepts and be able to learn quickly. Additionally, you should have a flexible approach to work and be able to adapt to changing priorities.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of up to £24,000 per annum, 39 days' holiday (including bank holidays) plus 3 personal days, and a pension scheme with matched contributions up to 3% after the probationary period. We also offer full training on our bespoke software products and company procedures.

Interview Process

The interview process will consist of two stages. The first stage will be a Microsoft Teams video call, where you will be asked a series of questions to assess your soft skills. The second stage will be a face-to-face interview at our office, where you will be asked technical questions and will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in a practical setting.
