Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Claims Handler to join our Complex Claims Team in Leeds. As a Senior Claims Handler, you will be responsible for handling a varied workload of claims, with a focus on Professional Indemnity, Employers Liability, Public Liability, and Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility and accountability for your workload of claims, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
  • Prioritize work, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines to see claims through to final settlement.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of policy wordings and their application for Professional Indemnity, Employers' Liability, Public Liability, and Management Liability claims.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with key brokers, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
  • Contribute to team projects as required by the Complex Claims Team Leader and the Head of Insurance Claims.

Requirements:

  • Either a claims background or legal background/experience.
  • Experience in care claims, professional indemnity, social welfare would be desirable.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook, and the ability to become fully competent with our in-house systems.
  • Studying towards or having a real desire to study towards CII qualifications (Markel funded).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.
