Job Title: Experienced Family Support Specialist

Location: London Borough of Croydon

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Hybrid Working: Flexible and remote work arrangements available

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Family Support Specialist to join our team at the London Borough of Croydon. As a key member of our team, you will work with families who have children with disabilities, providing intensive and targeted support to help them achieve improved outcomes and life chances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a comprehensive assessment of need for families with children with disabilities
  • Work with families to develop SMART plans and provide support to help them make positive changes
  • Use the Strengthening Families approach to support families in accessing community services and resources
  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to provide a holistic and integrated service
  • Support families with multiple and complex needs, providing intensive support as required
  • Work as part of a team to support children, young people, and families in accessing learning and services within their local community
Requirements
  • Significant experience and qualification in a relevant field, such as social work, teaching, psychology, or youth work
  • Knowledge of evidence-based approaches to direct and intensive work with families with children with disabilities
  • Knowledge of the research and evidence base of factors affecting families with children with disabilities
  • Ability to work in a family-centered and holistic way, ensuring improved outcomes and life chances for children and young people with disabilities
