Occupational Therapist for Adult Mental Health Team Lead

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is a leading healthcare provider in Wales, offering a wide range of specialist services to the local community. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Team Lead.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of occupational therapists, working closely with other multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care to patients with adult mental health needs. This is a full-time position (37 hours) based in North Cardiff, with most work being community-based.
The role offers a range of opportunities for service development, supervision, and management of occupational therapy grades. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health services, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and support their team.
Main Responsibilities- Lead a team of occupational therapists, providing guidance, supervision, and training to ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Develop and implement effective service plans, working collaboratively with other teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of occupational therapy interventions, making recommendations for service improvements.
- Prioritize workload and manage self and others' caseloads, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Apply specialist occupational therapy knowledge across various procedures, underpinned by theory, evidence-based practice, and continued professional development.
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Autonomous practitioner with self-management skills, planning, and prioritization of workload.
- Evidence of experience in Mental Health services as a Band 5 or 6.
- Knowledge of services linking across primary/secondary care interfaces, Health and Safety at Work Act, and current healthcare policies.
We offer a competitive salary package, including a basic salary of £51,411 - £63,779 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, annual leave, and training and development opportunities.
