An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist (Paediatrics) to join our Independent Living Services team.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking functional assessments of need for children and young people under 18 years with a disability and agreeing outcomes with service users, families and carers.

This is a role that requires focus on carrying a small complex caseload while supporting and providing supervision to fellow Occupational Therapists/Occupational Therapy Assistants in the Childrens team.

Part of the role also includes being involved in service development and contributing to the improvement of service delivery for children and young people with disabilities across Cardiff.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Undertake functional assessments of need for children and young people under 18 years with a disability.
  2. Agree outcomes with service users, families and carers.
  3. Carry a small complex caseload.
  4. Support and provide supervision to fellow Occupational Therapists/Occupational Therapy Assistants in the Childrens team.
  5. Be involved in service development and contribute to the improvement of service delivery for children and young people with disabilities across Cardiff.
Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

  • Experience of working proactively with children and young people.
  • Experience of working in a social care role with a strong interest in working with children and/or young people.
  • A full valid driving licence.
  • Use of a vehicle with business insurance.
