About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team within the mental health service for older people based at University Hospital Llandough.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing supervision to some Occupational Therapy staff within the wider Mental Health Service for Older People team and be responsible for the daily management of the Occupational Therapy service delivery in their clinical area.

Main Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist will work closely with other professions in the team and deliver holistic assessment/interventions to optimise function and reduce risk for older people experiencing mental health need.

Interventions will be occupationally focused using a positive approach and management techniques, including cognitive rehabilitation.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervising Occupational Therapists and supporting other members of the multi-professional team.

Requirements

  • Qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Professional Registration
  • Experience of working in the NHS
  • Practice Educator training
  • Significant post-graduate experience
  • Managing a complex case load
  • Team Leadership and people management
  • Inter-professional and multi-agency working
  • Autonomous and flexible practitioner
  • Understanding of audit, quality improvement, value-based healthcare and research
