Staff Nurse A&E Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a Staff Nurse A&E, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our department.
Main Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care for patients, including discharge planning.
- Safeguard vulnerable adults and children, adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
- Participate in preceptorship programs and act as a facilitator, mentor, or preceptor to less experienced staff.
- Educate patients and their carers on adopting a healthier lifestyle, as required.
- Complete patient documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop and sustain your own knowledge, clinical skills, and professional awareness, in accordance with NMC requirements.
- Assist in the training and development of student nurses and healthcare assistants.
- Contribute to research and development programs within the ward or department.
- Contribute to the setting and monitoring of measurable standards of care and be accountable for maintaining standards.
- Participate in handling complaints, in accordance with Trust policy.
- Maintain a safe, clean ward environment, ensuring all necessary risk assessments are carried out and documented.
- Show awareness of budgeting and exercising care and economy in the ordering and use of equipment.
- In the absence of a more senior member of staff, undertake clinical or shift management within an area of the department, with support.
- Ability to undertake manual handling and movement tasks, wearing appropriate protective equipment.
- Prepared to work variable shift patterns, including early, late, and night shifts, over 7 days of the week.
- Awareness of self-presentation to patients and relatives.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered nurse on sub-part 1 or 2 of the professional register.
- NMC recognized mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards within 18 months of commencement of post.
- Evidence of continuing education for more experienced Band 5 nurses in the specialty.
