Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Paediatrician to join our team at Gifford House, Thurrock Community Hospital. As a Community Paediatrician, you will be responsible for providing senior medical support and guidance to our multidisciplinary teams, working directly with babies, children, and young people, and their families, and liaising with other external health providers and acute hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to babies, children, and young people across South West Essex.
  • Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
  • Work directly with babies, children, and young people, and their families, and liaise as appropriate with other external health providers and acute hospitals.
  • Participate in the local Child Protection rota.
  • Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member while allowing them to work with their own initiative.
  • Work alongside 5wte Consultant Paediatricians, Specialist Grade Doctors, and 1wte Specialty Doctor within the service.
  • Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies.

Person Specification

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • CCT or equivalent.
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST.
