Job Summary

As a specialist paediatric physiotherapist, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a comprehensive physiotherapy service for children from birth to 25 years of age with developmental concerns.

We work with children and their families in their homes, nurseries, and schools across Mid-Essex, commissioned by Essex County Council to provide EHCP therapy hours outlined in their EHCP.

Our physiotherapists are dynamic, experienced, and supportive, working from a variety of community settings to provide over 40 services to children, families, and adults across Essex, Dorset, East Anglia, and the North of England.

Main Duties

To assess children with neurodevelopmental conditions, identify therapeutic goals, plan, and deliver intervention.

Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team and external settings to support the child and family.

Identify safeguarding concerns and contribute to safeguarding procedures when relevant.

Job Responsibilities

Undertake assessment and implementation of treatment plans using specialist knowledge and experience.

Analyse and interpret clinical findings using clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Use outcome measures to evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify it accordingly.

Set measurable and achievable functional goals, involving the child, family, and multi-disciplinary team.

Use highly developed therapeutic handling skills to deliver physiotherapy treatment.

Assess and arrange for the provision of specialist equipment.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years post-grad experience as a physiotherapist.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Post-grad experience treating neurological conditions.
  • Able to drive and use a car.
  • IT skills: word, excel, email.
  • Clear, concise written English.

Desirable

  • Post-grad experience in paediatric physio.
  • Experience of staff supervision.
  • Relevant post-grad training.
  • Experience using virtual consultations.
