Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at HMS Drake Barracks, His Majesty's Naval Base Devonport, Plymouth. This part-time position offers 20 hours per week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective care to Service Personnel and entitled civilians, with a focus on recovery and rehabilitation. They will also undertake research in mental health and mental wellbeing, and provide clinical education to primary care staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely access to skilled and effective assessment, treatment, and occupational recommendations.
  • Undertake research in mental health and mental wellbeing.
  • Act as a command liaison to support case management and organisational initiatives.
  • Provide clinical education to primary care staff.
Requirements
  • Certificate of Specialist Training or equivalent in General Adult or forensic Psychiatry.
  • Masters of Sciences (MSc) relevant to mental health.
  • Current/recent clinical experience.
  • Ability to travel independently to places of duty.
  • Full driving licence.
