About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team in providing specialist psychological services to older adults in later life community mental health services.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology and experience in working with older adults with complex mental health needs. They will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological assessments, interventions, and evaluations, as well as contributing to the development of policies and procedures for the provision of psychology and psychological therapy services in later life services.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and relationship skills, with the ability to work effectively with older adults, their families, and other healthcare professionals. They will also have a strong commitment to providing culturally sensitive and responsive care, and be able to work autonomously within professional guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing specialist psychological services to older adults in later life community mental health services
- Conducting psychological assessments, interventions, and evaluations
- Contributing to the development of policies and procedures for the provision of psychology and psychological therapy services in later life services
- Working effectively with older adults, their families, and other healthcare professionals
- Providing culturally sensitive and responsive care
- Working autonomously within professional guidelines
Person Specification
- Qualified Clinical Psychologist (Psych or equivalent) and registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
- Experience of conducting psychological assessments, interventions, and evaluations
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of team consultation and supervision
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to integrate complex data, make highly skilled evaluations, and decisions, and take a long-term perspective
- Organisation and time management skills
