Job Title: Loss Adjuster

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of large or complex claims, ensuring customers receive excellent service while managing claims costs and expenses within the scope of the insurance policy.
  • Effective day-to-day management of claims under your control, including excellent communication with policyholders, suppliers, and loss assessors.
  • Drive settlement (cash or reinstatement) of the buildings element of each claim in your control, in conjunction with the Buildings Surveyor Team.
  • Produce a large or complex report and deliver it to the Claims SMT within agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain claim files to a very high standard, ensuring all documents, photographs, and communications are accurately recorded in chronological order for audit, complaints analysis, and client review.
  • Manage system claim reserves and payments, ensuring Total Incurred values are as accurate as possible and maintained as such until the claim is concluded.
  • Support the Customer Relations Team with complaints, particularly those involving the FOS.
  • Manage your own diary, including coordinating customer appointments for site visits and hotel accommodation, if applicable.
Requirements:
  • 5 years' previous experience in an insurance claims-related handling role.
  • Experience working in home insurance claims.
  • High-level understanding of insurance/indemnity policies and legal structure.
