Asia Art Curriculum Specialist

Located in the heart of Bloomsbury, London, SOAS University of London is a world-renowned institution specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East.
We are seeking a highly skilled Co-convenor to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will work alongside a fellow Co-Convenor, the Programme Director, Programme Manager, Programme Administrator and Programme Administrative Assistant to provide high-quality teaching on one module of the SOAS-Alphawood Postgraduate Diploma in Asian Art.
The post offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills directly applicable to careers in the museum sector and art market, as well as providing a rigorous and expansive foundation for further postgraduate study.
About the Role
You will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality teaching on one module of the SOAS-Alphawood Postgraduate Diploma in Asian Art;
- Developing and preparing materials and assessment for students;
- Working closely with the Programme Director, Programme Manager, Programme Administrator and Programme Administrative Assistant to deliver the module.
About the Department
The SOAS-Alphawood Postgraduate Diploma in Asian Art is a unique academic programme located in the College of Humanities. It is centred on object-based learning, offering survey courses of the art history and archaeology of various regions and religions of Asia.
The programme has a strong vocational focus, providing an intersection between academia, the museum world, and the art trade. Our courses enable students to develop practical skills directly applicable to careers in the museum sector and art market.
About the Salary
The salary for this position is £41,317 - 48,481 per annum inclusive of London Weighting, pro-rata'd for part-time hours.
