About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Infrastructure Planning Director to join our team at Carrington West in East Yorkshire. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in leading the development and implementation of transport strategies.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing transport strategies, including the Local Transport Plan and Walking Cycling Infrastructure Plan.
  • Managing early-stage scheme development, ensuring pre-business case justification aligns with strategic goals.
  • Overseeing strategic planning and development control efforts, leading large-scale development schemes.
  • Contributing to local planning by integrating transport strategies into the Local Plan and supplementary designs.
  • Supporting and managing a team, offering hands-on assistance to meet project demands.
  • Maintaining accurate records of projects and updates on transport strategy progress.
  • Monitoring performance and providing recommendations for improvements based on analysis of transport initiatives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of strategic planning and early-stage transport scheme development.
  • Familiarity with integrating transport strategies into local planning documents.
  • Sound engineering knowledge of highway maintenance and transport infrastructure.
  • An understanding of relevant legislation, including the Highways Act and associated policies.
  • Previous experience in a highways or transport planning role is essential for this position.
