About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our service at Kinver Care Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the children and young people in their care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to children in accordance with their individual care plans, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Assist children with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, and medication administration.
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment for children, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Establish positive relationships with children, families, and other members of the care team, advocating for their rights and preferences.
  • Monitor and report changes in children's physical or emotional condition to appropriate staff members and participate in the development and review of care plans.
  • Facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities with children, encouraging social engagement and participation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and social workers, to ensure holistic care for residents.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of residential care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided and progress, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in children's care or working towards achieving NVQ level 3 in children's care.
  • Two years prior experience working in a children's residential care setting or similar environment is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to providing care and support to children and young people with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
