About the Role

The Electrical Team Leader will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team of skilled and apprentice craftsmen in all aspects of the workplace. This includes directing the team to carry out Planned Maintenance in line with the schedule set on the CMMS, fault finding on all equipment and control systems, and implementing solutions to ensure continuous production schedules are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage a team of electrical engineers and technicians to ensure the effective maintenance and repair of plant and equipment.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the reliability and efficiency of plant and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the effective operation of plant and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance schedules, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure the skills and knowledge of team members are up-to-date.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance performance, including metrics such as mean time to repair (MTTR) and mean time between failures (MTBF).

Requirements

  • A recognized electrical engineering apprenticeship (preferably HNC but minimum ONC level or equivalent).
  • Sound plant engineering knowledge and experience of industrial systems such as AC & DC circuits, hydraulic systems, pumps, drives and gearboxes, heavy machinery, water cooling systems, conveyor systems, dust extraction systems, robotics and PLCs.
  • Self-starting driven individual capable of leading a small team.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to methodically fault find any issues to root cause and front-line rectification.
  • Experience of working under permit systems previously or has knowledge of how permit systems operate.
  • A customer-focused attitude with an understanding of prioritization with current resources.

Working Pattern

The working pattern will consist of 8-hour shifts including afternoons and mornings. The role requires weekend work with days off in the week.
