Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Homeless Services Officer. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and helping them achieve a positive and sustainable move into permanent accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accommodation Management: Conduct regular health and safety checks of individual rooms/properties to ensure a safe and secure living environment for our clients.
- Client Onboarding: Sign up new clients to their accommodation, providing them with essential information about their rights and obligations under the tenancy/licence agreements.
- Client Support: Be the primary point of contact for clients, offering guidance on housing benefit advice, arrears advice, and anti-social behaviour issues.
- Housing-Related Support: Deliver support to clients to help them sustain their accommodation and progress towards more permanent housing solutions.
- Client Progression: Support clients in achieving their action plans, promoting a positive and sustainable move into permanent accommodation.
- Client Well-being: Monitor the health and well-being of clients in our services, providing encouragement and motivation to engage with available support.
- IT Skills: Utilize our ICT systems to collect, input, and retrieve data, ensuring accurate and efficient record-keeping.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience of supporting clients within a housing setting is essential.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support clients.
