In our role, you'll be supporting students with varying levels of special needs, including autism, ADHD, and more. You'll need to be flexible, able to think on your feet and offer tailored help that caters to each child's unique learning style.

Your daily tasks might include: lesson planning, classroom assistance, assessing student progress, reporting back to teachers, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement. This job requires active listening, patience, empathy, creativity, and problem-solving.

This position typically pays around £30,000 annually, depending on qualifications and years of experience. As a SEND teaching assistant, you can also expect to earn bonuses based on successful placement duration, smooth start-ups, time-keeping, adaptability, personal initiative, local progression, referrals, onboarding progress, discussion momentum, lengthy tenure, completion milestone payments, dependant care financing, loan deferral.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of a BTEC Diploma level 3 in childcare, education, youthwork, mental health, psychology, healthcare science
  • Strong background knowledge of current UK educational systems/structures
  • Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Flexibility to occasionally cover shifts or school events
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
