Job Title: Grants Officer

We are currently seeking a skilled Grants Officer to join our team at YMCA Doncaster. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to make a significant impact on our work with young people in central Doncaster.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective grant proposals, ensuring alignment with YMCA Doncaster's mission and goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including trusts, foundations, and government agencies.
  • Manage and track grant applications, reporting, and evaluation in accordance with funder requirements.
  • Collaborate with programme teams to identify and pursue grant opportunities that support YMCA Doncaster's programmes and services.
  • Communicate grant results and outcomes to stakeholders, including the Chief Executive and programme teams.
  • Contribute to the development of YMCA Doncaster's fundraising strategy and annual plan.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues on grant-related matters.

Person Specification:

  • Proven track record of securing grants in an employed role, with a focus on grants or similar fundraising.
  • Experience covering the full cycle of grants fundraising, including case development, application submission, and evaluation.
  • Understanding of the current UK grants climate and types of funders likely to support YMCA Doncaster's work.
  • Self-motivated and self-supporting, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with a strong command of grammar and attention to detail.
  • Ability to articulate YMCA Doncaster's work effectively and create compelling grant applications.
  • Experience of maintaining confidentiality and appropriate relationships, and a clear understanding of the importance of those.
