Job Title: SENDCo - Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENDCo to join our team at a highly successful Academy in Cambridgeshire. As the SENDCo, you will take the lead in supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities across the Academy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individual education plans tailored to each student's unique needs
  • Monitor and assess progress, setting measurable targets, and making necessary adjustments to support each student's development
  • Work closely with external agencies to provide a comprehensive support network for pupils and their families
  • Provide pastoral care, ensuring the emotional and social wellbeing of students is nurtured alongside their academic progress
  • Lead SEND provision within the Academy, contributing to a high-achieving school environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds the National Award for SENDCo and has significant experience working with pupils in the secondary age range
  • Has proven leadership experience, with a passion for improving SEND provision and raising standards
  • Possesses excellent communication and teamworking skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, families, and external agencies
  • Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues, with a commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment for all students
