Job Title: Mental Health Liaison Nurse

Location: Central London

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £58,000 plus benefits and paid enhancements

Contract: Permanent

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Liaison Nurse to join our team in Central London. As a Mental Health Liaison Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting patients with mental health needs in our inpatient units, from pre-admission to discharge.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the planning and management of a patient's mental health condition, including pre-admission planning and managing sudden acute mental health episodes.
  2. Manage a caseload within your scope of practice and with the guidance of the CNO and the wider clinical team.
  3. Upskill and train colleagues to manage acute mental health patient deteriorations and provide advice on management out of hours.
  4. Complete risk assessments and provide advice on mental capacity assessments and build links with external inpatient mental health partners.
  5. Manage challenging or disturbed behaviour, provide advice on medication, and participate in discharge planning for inpatients who require mental health support.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant post-registration experience at Band 6 in the specialty area of Mental Health.
  2. Experience of developing policies and clinical pathways.
