Leonardo Helicopters is seeking a B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our Civil Flight team within the Aircraft Services division. This role involves performing and certifying both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various civil aircraft, including models such as AW109, AW139, AW189, and AW169, adhering to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations.

The Aircraft Services division offers specialized maintenance expertise and support to our clientele and end users. Located within our UK Customer Support and Training Division, our primary focus is on maintaining an extensive fleet of helicopters utilized by numerous clients globally, including some of the most advanced helicopters in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, ensuring timely completion in accordance with the approved maintenance schedule.
  • Conduct hourly and calendar-based maintenance as per the approved maintenance program and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) aircraft data.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance following OEM aircraft data.
  • Diagnose and rectify aircraft defects in line with approved aircraft data.
  • Inspect, remove, and install avionic systems on aircraft.
  • Supervise civil flight technicians as necessary.
  • Mentor trainee certifying engineers in the Civil Flight sector.
  • Provide support at offsite locations for aircraft on ground (AOG) situations.
  • Investigate human factors and their potential impact on safety, managing occurrences through the Voluntary Occurrence Reporting system when required.
  • Hold an aeronautical apprenticeship or equivalent trade training.
  • Possess a minimum of a type-rated CAA issued Part 66 maintenance license in category B2.
  • Have prior experience with aircraft models such as AW139 or AW189.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in civil aircraft maintenance, particularly in a helicopter environment.
  • Be proficient in utilizing wiring diagrams, serial numbers, breakdown procedures, work instructions, service bulletins, technical logs, and maintenance data.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of CAA and EASA regulations (Part 145, 66, and M).
  • Be familiar with CAA CAP publications.
  • Be willing to travel on short notice to various locations, both nationally and internationally.
