Senior Laboratory Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Laboratory Research Scientist to join our High Throughput Screening (HTS) facility at the Francis Crick Institute. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enabling researchers to use large-scale screening techniques as part of their research.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, permanent position on Crick terms and conditions of employment. The successful applicant will undertake a number of projects at different stages of development simultaneously, working closely with the HTS team and interacting with other scientists, technical experts, and operations staff across the institute.
Key Responsibilities- Full project engagement and involvement from initial assay development to prosecuting the screen and final data analysis.
- Using existing High Content Imaging and liquid handling infrastructure effectively and inventively across a wide range of projects.
- Maintaining a productive dialogue with users throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to the efficient running of the HTS facility by managing multiple projects directly and maintaining dialogue with all users.
- Maintain effective records and contribute to the HTS databases.
We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual with a strong background in research and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results. The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrable extensive research experience, which could include a PhD with post-doctoral research experience or extensive Pharma experience.
- Demonstrably capable of independent working and working to a timeline, controlling project progression and maintaining effective interaction with collaborators.
- Demonstrable expertise in prosecuting multiple large-scale screening campaigns either in Pharma or academia.
- Demonstrable expertise in the use of a range of liquid handling devices, high content imaging devices, and image analysis software tools.
- Capable of self-teaching, open to innovation and pragmatic problem solving, adaptable, and able to quickly understand unfamiliar biology.
