Job Title: Laboratory Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Laboratory Research Scientist to join our team at the Francis Crick Institute. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and a passion for research.

About the Role

The Laboratory Research Scientist will be responsible for designing and performing experiments with tissue culture cells and optimizing novel genomics protocols. The role will involve working in collaboration with other lab members and the ability to work in a team is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and performing sequencing and molecular biology experiments
  • Operating automation protocols with liquid handling robots
  • Record keeping
  • Data analysis & interpretation
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a BSc or equivalent in biochemistry or molecular biology and experience in molecular biology and gene expression assays. A good knowledge of eukaryotic gene regulation and experience in running PCR reactions and primer design is also essential. The ability to work independently and collaborate within a group is also required.
