Career Opportunities

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Orthopaedic Scrub Team Leader to join our Halton hospitals elective and Trauma service at Captain Sir Tom Moore Building. As a key member of the theatre co-ordinating team, you will oversee the theatre department in the absence of the theatre manager and have the ability to motivate, support, and develop staff within our department.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills, with extensive experience within their respective fields. You will also have direct line management responsibility, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of elective perioperative care programs.

Main Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Oversight of the theatre department in the absence of the theatre manager;
  • Motivating, supporting, and developing staff within the department;
  • Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of elective perioperative care programs;
  • Demonstrating a high standard of clinical practice and a passion for teaching and mentoring;
  • Participating in peer mentoring and management supervision during your transition period.

About the Role

This role offers opportunities to work across sites (based on service demand) at the Nightingale Building (Halton Hospital Site) and at Warrington Hospital to support Children's Surgery and patients who require enhanced clinical support. Contracted full-time hours for CSTM department are Monday-Friday, with part-time hours available depending on the contracted hours.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years post-registration experience;
  • Evidence of department management;
  • Experience of leading, motivating, and supporting a team;
  • Experience of managing resources;
  • Experience of delegating workload and monitoring progress;
  • Experience of Change Management Strategy;
  • HCPC ODP Registration or NMC Registration;
  • Perioperative Post-Registration Education; recent Personal & Professional Development;
  • Surgical Scrub and Circulating accredited course;
  • Preceptor/Mentor or Clinical Assessors Course.

Salary Range

We offer a competitive salary range of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to your salary, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension schemes, health insurance, and professional development opportunities.
