About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Manager to join our team as Area Support Centre Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, developing, and mentoring the Funeral Service Operatives team to deliver exceptional client experiences across all support centers and back-of-house operations.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Embracing and supporting the delivery of the End-of-Life Services vision
  • Managing and delivering business objectives to ensure funerals are delivered professionally, with care, and empathy in line with procedures
  • Supporting the Funeral Operations & Logistics Manager to develop and evolve the support center operation and funeral delivery proposition
  • Assisting in the timely investigation of complaints and reporting findings as necessary
  • Embracing and endorsing the bereavement and aftercare service for individuals, groups, and colleagues
  • Managing, coaching, and developing Funeral Assistants and Area Support and Logistics Specialist
  • Highlighting gaps or areas for improvement in colleague recruitment, retention, performance management, health, wellbeing, and learning & development
  • Delivering key financial KPIs and other financial targets on budget
  • Supporting the delivery of the End-of-Life Services / Southern Co-op business plan and service proposition ensuring commercial sensitivity

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong logistical management skills in an operational environment with commercial and financial awareness
  • Knowledge or experience of a funeral operational environment
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • IT literacy and competence in MS Office

Salary Range

£45,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience.
