Education Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to support deaf students in a nurturing educational environment.
A leading deaf school in Northfield, Birmingham, is committed to providing high-quality education for deaf and hard-of-hearing students aged 4-19. As a BSL Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students with hearing impairments access the curriculum and develop their communication, social, and academic skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the teaching and learning of deaf students, ensuring they have access to a tailored and engaging learning environment.
- Use British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively with students, helping them understand lessons and instructions.
- Create a safe and supportive environment where students feel confident to express themselves and participate fully.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and external professionals to support holistic student development.
- British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 qualification or above (essential).
- Experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing children and young people in an educational setting.
- Passion for supporting the academic and personal development of students with additional needs.
- Collaborative approach to working within a team dedicated to inclusive education.

- Competitive rates of pay: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
