We are seeking a skilled Press Officer to join our enthusiastic and trusted communications team at the Royal Courts of Justice.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Senior Press Officers to assist with media relations and related communications activity, providing support to the Lady Chief Justice, heads of division, judges, and magistrates.

The role involves managing incoming enquiries, responding to breaking stories, and building relationships with key journalists. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of communications strategies and support the wider communications team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming enquiries and respond to breaking stories
  • Build relationships with key journalists and develop media opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of communications strategies
  • Support the wider communications team

Requirements:

  • At least one year's experience as a press officer or in a similar communications role
  • Sharp news sense, excellent judgement, and outstanding media skills
  • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
  • Experience of working in the field of justice

Working Arrangements:

The Ministry of Justice offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites, and/or from home.
