About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Connex Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in the classroom, contributing to the effective delivery of instruction and the overall success of the educational experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers with classroom management, supervise students, maintain order, and ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Instructional Assistance: Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons, provide additional explanations, or offer extra practice on assignments.
  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare teaching materials, such as visual aids, worksheets, or other resources needed for lessons.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties, such as taking attendance, grading assignments, and organizing classroom materials.
  • Special Needs Support: Work closely with students who have special educational needs or disabilities, providing personalized assistance and accommodations to help them succeed academically and socially.
  • Behavioral Support: Help implement behavior management strategies and support students in developing positive social skills.
  • Communication: Communicate with parents or caregivers to provide updates on student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
  • Assessment: Assist teachers in assessing student performance by administering tests, quizzes, or other assessments and recording results.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a school or with young people.
  • Level 2 in Teaching and Learning or working towards this qualification.
  • Current enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to provide a new one.
  • Ability to provide references for all work in the last 2 years.
