About the Role

Connex Education is working with a large number of primary schools in Swadlincote and surrounding areas, and are seeking Teaching Assistants for day-to-day and long term cover work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers with classroom management by helping to supervise students, maintain order, and ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Instructional Assistance: Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons taught by the teacher, provide additional explanations, or offer extra practice on assignments.
  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare teaching materials, such as visual aids, worksheets, or other resources needed for lessons.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties such as taking attendance, grading assignments, and organizing classroom materials.
  • Special Needs Support: Work closely with students who have special educational needs or disabilities, providing personalized assistance and accommodations to help them succeed academically and socially.
  • Behavioral Support: Help implement behavior management strategies and support students in developing positive social skills.
  • Communication: Communicate with parents or caregivers to provide updates on student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
  • Assessment: Assist teachers in assessing student performance by administering tests, quizzes, or other assessments and recording results.
Person Specification
  • You must have previous experience either working in school or with young people.
  • All applicants must have a Level 2 in Teaching and Learning or be working towards this.
  • You must have a current enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to provide a new one.
  • Be able to provide references for all work in the last 2 years.
